LYNN – Two MS-13 gang members who were allegedly caught with loaded guns on Saturday, appeared in court Monday and were both held on high cash bails.Djavier Jarel Duggins, 21, of 10 Atlantic St., #2, and Kevin Oswaldo Avelar, 21, of 110 South St., #1, were both charged with carrying a loaded firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm without a license and unlawful possession of ammunition. Both suspects were arraigned at Lynn District Court by Judge James Wexler. Duggins was ordered held on $15,000 cash bail, with Avelar held on $10,000 cash bail. A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for May 10.According to court documents, members of the Lynn police department Gang Unit responded to a hold-up alarm at Little Caesar’s Pizza, located at 24 Union St., around 11:50 p.m. When they arrived, the detectives saw Avelar allegedly pulling on the front door of the restaurant.Both suspects suddenly turned and began to walk away, but were stopped a few yards away. A pat frisk found that both suspects had weapons on them. Avelar allegedly had a .380 caliber Armi F. LLI Tanfoglio-Gardone handgun with six loaded rounds of ammunition, while Duggins had a Ceska .380 caliber handgun, loaded with one round of ammunition. Both guns were seized.
