April 12, 2011 by Matthew Roy

When a team has a scorer as gifted as Fenwick’s Becca Graves is, it usually can lead to other players getting opportunities when the opposing team’s scheme is to take the biggest threat away.On Monday at Donaldson Field, that’s what the St. Mary’s girls lacrosse team fell victim to. Graves had five goals and three assists but it was Grace Celona with six goals and Anna Moulton with a hat trick who proved to be the difference in a 15-11 Crusaders win.”Becca makes all the players around her better,” St. Mary’s coach Doug Lowe said. “And that’s the big difference in her game from last year to this year.”St. Mary’s (3-1) had an 8-7 lead at the half but the Crusaders (3-1) exploded in the third quarter to take the lead for good. The Spartans were led by hat tricks from Ashley Morelli and Bridget Donovan.
