April 12, 2011 by Robin Kaminski

LYNN – A Lynn man allegedly went ballistic Saturday night and savagely beat his mother and uncle after his PlayStation 3 game broke.Sean Michael Brown, 26, of 340 Western Ave., was charged with two counts of domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, plastic gate, and threat to commit a crime. He was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court by Judge James Wexler and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Thursday.According to court documents, police were called to a home on Western Avenue around 9 p.m., on a report that an older man was getting beat up out front. Upon arrival, officers saw Brown walking down the driveway, sweating profusely and out of breath. One officer stayed with Brown as another went inside the home and spoke with his 59-year-old mother who was holding a blood-soaked towel and was bleeding from her nose, forehead and head. Visibly upset and shaking, the victim said Brown, who lives on the third floor of the home, had allegedly been drinking alcohol the entire day and began yelling at her, calling her several obscenities. After being told to go to his apartment and “sleep it off,” Brown allegedly flew into a rage and said, “I’m going to kill you,” and tipped everything in the kitchen upside down. He then allegedly punched his mother several times in the face and she fell to the floor, losing consciousness. While on the ground, Brown allegedly hit her with a plastic gate on the head.Brown’s uncle witnessed the attack and was also punched in the face. Brown’s girlfriend, with whom he shares three young children, was upstairs with the children during the incident. Police notified the Department of Children and Families. The victim said she will be seeking a restraining order.
