MARBLEHEAD – What do you give a departing selectman who is leaving the board for the second time? The Board of Selectmen had to give that question some thought this month.Selectman William Woodfin, a native Marbleheader who received the traditional selectman?s chair as a parting gift when he previously stepped down as selectman, was given a mirror this time.Selectman Judy Jacobi and Woodfin joked about him coming back enough times to receive an entire dining room set, but Jacobi added that Woodfin could look into that mirror every day and tell himself he had done a good job for the town.Woodfin?s service as selectman began in 1993 and began again in 2007.?The real gift is being able to serve my hometown. I just love the town of Marblehead and I want her to succeed,” he said. “That being said, I think it?s time for a new generation to come along.”
