After spotting Danvers a seven run lead, Marblehead softball came storming back behind a monster effort from Maggie Hermann to win in extra innings, 8-7.The Magicians (3-3, 3-1 Northeastern Conference) stole the win in the top of the eighth inning when Emmy York walked, was advanced to second on a sac bunt by Kylie Score, and then scored on a single by Leah Brooks.Hermann ripped three run doubles in both the sixth and seven innings to knot the game at seven. Hermann finished 2-4 with six RBIs and three runs scored.”(Hermann) just had a big game for us today,” said Marblehead coach Jon Gold. “We were down and she helped us in the sixth and seventh to come back.”The game started with neither team scoring until Danvers erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning.For Marblehead, Kathryn DiGiammarini finished 3-5 with two runs scored while Brooks finished 2-2 with two runs scored.Classical 5, Westhill 2At Walt Disney World against one of the top teams in Syracuse, N.Y, Mackenzie Coppinger threw seven innings striking out 10 and allowed one run on three hits to lead the Rams to the win.The Rams, facing a strong pitcher, played small ball twice moving runners from first to third on bunts.For Classical (5-0), Jerrica DeLosSantos knocked in two runs. Ahearn finishes with 16 strike outs while only walking one batter. For English (0-4), Cathia Hernandez, Taylor Ford, and Taylor Newhall recorded hits.Saugus 12, Gloucester 0At Gloucester, the Sachems rolled behind a strong offensive performance throughout the line up. Leading the charge of the Saugus brigade was Melissa Toomey who rattled off three hits and three RBIs.Also for Saugus (4-0, 3-0 NEC) Alyssa Furtade raked three hits and Amanda Dicenzo knocked in three runs on two hits. Saugus as a team finished with 17 total hits.
