LYNN – A suspect involved in a February shooting is behind bars following his arraignment on Thursday.Domingo Mejia, 19, of 55 Howard St., #3, Lynn, has been charged with armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm without a license and unlicensed possession of ammunition. He was arraigned at Lynn District Court by Judge James Wexler and ordered held on $10,000 cash bail. A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for May 26.According to court documents, the shooting happened on Feb. 5 on Howard Street, where the 38-year-old victim was shot in his left knee and the back of his head.The victim was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he underwent several surgeries before being transferred to Spaulding Rehab. During his stay, police were unable to speak to the victim because of his condition, but on April 25, police got the go ahead to pay him a visit.The victim, who had part of his skull removed from the incident, detailed what he remembered from the night he was shot, saying he had stopped by the Howard Street home to get Atterol and had a gut feeling that he was going to be robbed.He said he turned around and went back to his truck, but before he was able to leave, a Hispanic man allegedly opened the driver’s side door, pointed a gun at him and said, “Give me your money.” At that point, he said he remembers hearing a gunshot and trying to drive away. Police said they found the Arlington victim’s truck run into a snowbank.During their visit, police showed the victim a series of photos to see if he could identify the suspect. He immediately pointed at Mejia’s photo and said, “That’s him.”
