Enos won the discus by more than 15 feet with a throw of 158-10 and added a fifth-place finish in the shot put (52-11).The Eagles’ Bryan Browne also figured prominently as he clocked 22.74 to place third in the 200 and anchored the fourth-place 4×100 relay team (43.82) that included Luis Soto, Nick Pesaturo and Jay Dumas. Other St. John’s placers included Scott Sheehan (2nd, javelin, 166-1), Morgan Johnson (7th, discus, 131-7) and Jarret Harrigan (8th, 2-mile, 9:34.77).The Peabody boys finished 20th with 11 points, paced by fifth-place finishes by Evan Braz (800, 1:58.12) and Austin Brewster (200, 23.08). Sophomore Catarina Rocha breezed to a 14-second win in the two-mile with a time of 10:55.76 and Sarah May placed second in the 400 hurdles in 1:05.98.Division 2At Bridgewater State, the Beverly girls had the best showing among area teams in the EMass Division 2 Meet, finishing 12th with 22.5 points. Two relay teams paced the Panthers as the 4×800 unit placed second in 9:51.81 and the 4×400 quartet was fifth in 4:09.34. Nicole Demers finished fifth in the two-mile (11:21.55), Lianne Patruzzo tied for sixth in the high jump (5-0) and Madison Shropshire was eighth in the triple jump (34-3/4).Hulerie McGuffie carried the Lynn Classical girls to a tie for 13th, accounting for 12 of the Rams’ 20 points with a second-place finish in the 400 (57.17) and fifth-place showing in the long jump (16-7). The Rams ran second in the 4×100 relay in a time of 50.26.Jasmine Bryant accounted for Salem’s 11 points by finishing second in the 100 hurdles (15.69) and sixth in the triple jump (34-2).On the boys side, Beverly’s George Kallas nailed down third in the shot put (49-7) and Classical’s Felipe Garcia was seventh in the triple jump (42-8).Division 4At North Reading High School, Lynnfield’s girls captured the EMass championship Friday as they amassed 61 points, squeezing past Cape Ann League rival Hamilton-Wenham (57) and Ursuline Academy (56). Depth was critical to the Pioneers’ win as they recorded just one first-place finish but scored in 11 events.Senior Meghan Goodwin led the way, winning the 400 in 58.44 and placing fourth in the triple jump (32-11 1/2). Scout Benson claimed second in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.7 and finished fifth in the 400 hurdles (67.16), followed by Gretta Hunt (fifth, 68.01) and Justina Padovani (eighth, 68.34). Brittany Hunt placed fifth in both the mile (5:18.81) and pole vault (8-0).Additional placers included Lexi Buonfiglio in the 800 (fourth, 2:21.63), Hannah Adams in the shot put (fifth, 33-0), Angelica Kartsounis in the pole vault (seventh, 7-6), and Nareh Sahakian in the discus (eighth, 85-7).
