SALEM – A Lynn man already facing several armed robbery charges involving holdups at Dunkin Donuts, a drug store and a Starbucks in Swampscott, was indicted Wednesday afternoon for allegedly robbing money from two Lynn banks last November.An Essex County grand jury reviewing cases handed up two indictments against Tony Goffredo, 28, of 4 Broad St., #2, Lynn, charging him with two counts of stealing by confining or putting in fear.The charges arise out of two bank robberies last November.Goffredo is accused of robbing the Eastern Bank, located at 112 Market St., on Nov. 13 and the Sovereign Bank branch in Central Square on Nov. 17.In each of the holdups the suspect passed a threatening note to a teller and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.Authorities believe the suspect used a taxi to flee the scene from the Sovereign Bank robbery.Goffredo is also under indictment for incidents between Oct. 29 and Nov. 27 in which he allegedly stole an undetermined amount of cash from the Crown Drug Store, located at 232 Lewis St., on Oct. 29.Three days later, Nov. 2 he alleged robbed $130 from the Dunkin? Donuts located at 116 Lewis St., and again robbed $80 two days later from the same Dunkin” Donuts.Then on Nov. 22 he is accused of stealing $240 from Starbucks in Vinnin Square in Swampscott.Goffredo has pleaded not guilty to those crimes and remains held at the Middleton Jail on $100,000 cash bail.Assistant District Attorney Christine P. Ronan is prosecuting all the cases.Also indicted was: Rocco V. Iudiciani, 51, of 8 Ninth St., #405, Medford, charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, fourth offense, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol reading of .08 or greater, fourth offense.The charges arise out of an incident in Lynnfield on March 26 when he stopped on Route 1, southbound for erratic operation of a motor vehicle.Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and he failed several sobriety tests.His alcohol blood level was .13, according to reports.Iudiciani, originally from Lynn, has three prior operating under the influence charges. His most recent was in 2001, according to police.Assistant District Attorney Jane Prince is assigned to prosecute the case for the state.Indictments are not an indication of guilt: rather it is a legal process that allows a case to be transferred from District Court to Superior Court allowing for a more severe punishment.
