Rain on Saturday prompted the postponement of two high school state tournament games of great interest to North Shore sports fans: the Division 2 North baseball final featuring Classical against North Andover, and the Division 3 North softball final featuring St. Mary’s against Winthrop.Both games were postponed to today (Monday, June 13).In the first game of today, St. Mary’s faces Winthrop at Martin Field, Lowell, at 3 p.m. The No. 2 Spartans (21-2) defeated Shawsheen 8-5 in the semifinals to reach the North final, while the No. 17 Vikings (13-11) got to the final via a 7-5 win over Matignon in the semis.St. Mary’s is the two-time defending state champion.Meanwhile, in baseball, No. 15 Classical (13-10) will play top seed North Andover (22-1) at Fraser Field at 6 p.m. Classical reached the final with a 7-3 win over No. 3 Danvers in the semis, while North Andover got to the final by defeating No. 13 Gloucester, 3-0.
