June 14, 2011 by Robin Kaminski

MARBLEHEAD – A Gloucester man was arraigned at Lynn District Court Monday on charges that he allegedly filled several fake prescriptions at Village Pharmacy in March.Andrew F. Wagner, 25, of 77 Centennial Ave., was charged with four counts of uttering a false prescription. Judge James Wexler released Wagner on personal recognizance, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for Aug. 1.According to court documents, Gloucester police contacted Marblehead officers on March 22 in regards to a fake prescription passed at the Village Pharmacy. Police had asked the owner of the store to search his records, where he found that Wagner used his real name, address and date of birth to fill prescriptions from Nov. 15, 2010 to March 12, 2011.On March 23, Wagner was interviewed by Marblehead police, where he allegedly admitted that he came to Marblehead on five occasions to pass fake prescriptions. He allegedly said he stole a prescription from his cousin’s house while he was babysitting and would then go to the Gloucester library, where he made fake prescriptions using the stolen information.Wagner said he came to Marblehead because Village Pharmacy allegedly did not require insurance information and would accept cash as a payment. Police say Wagner came voluntarily to the interview, was cooperative and admitted that he was wrong. In all, Wagner obtained 360 pills of Clonazepam and Alprazolam.
