SALEM – A Lynn man authorities say was caught with two others with a loaded gun and cocaine in a rented vehicle last fall, remains held on $1,500 cash bail at the Middleton Jail following his arraignment.Jamaal Boyd, 23, of 6 Upland Place, pleaded innocent to carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity weapon, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute before Judge Howard J. Whitehead.As jointly recommended by Assistant District Attorney Michael Sheehan and defense lawyer Deborah B. McWade, the judge agreed to set bail with the condition that the defense may seek a bail review at another court hearing.Sheehan said the charges arise out of Boyd?s arrest last November.Lynn Officers Paul Wonoski and Mike Kmiec stopped a gray Chrysler 300 on Rockingham Street in Lynn, reportedly for a motor vehicle infraction.Officers said they discovered a 40-caliber handgun in the glove compartment of the rented minivan along with a small quantity of cocaine inside the vehicle.Boyd was reportedly seated in the back seat of the vehicle.Ali McMillan, 21, of Lynn, was the driver of the vehicle and, according to police, he had no license to drive. Jamel Johnson, 23, of Brockton, was the front-seat passenger. McMillan and Johnson earlier pleaded innocent.All three suspects are due back in court on July 13 for a pretrial conference.
