SALEM – The defense lawyer for Fernando Aristy, the man charged with the beating death of a Peabody father, was allowed background information on a key prosecution witness.Aristy, 25, is charged with the beating death of Chad R. McDonald Sr., 34, of Peabody on Oct. 9, 2010 outside a 37 Bennett St., Lynn warehouse after the two got into a fight about a parking space. The trial was expected to start last month in Lawrence Superior Court, but the case was delayed so attorney Raymond Buso could research last-minute information regarding a key witness. The trial is now scheduled for Oct. 3 in Lawrence. On Monday morning in Salem Superior Court Buso filed a motion seeking all the criminal records of Wilfred Mordan, 38, of Revere, who initially identified himself to police as Antonio Santos.Judge John T. Lu allowed the motion without objection by Assistant District Attorney Maureen Leal-Wilson.In the motion allowed, Buso states Mordan used six alias names and birth dates in the past. The motion orders the probation department to provide a copy of the criminal records of Mordan and all the alias names he apparently used, along with Registry of Motor Vehicles records.
