SALEM – A city man and a Saugus woman who allegedly robbed a man at knifepoint at a Boston Street ATM and then carjacked a car on Locust Street were two of four people indicted Friday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Ferdinand R. Parziale, 29, of 12 Hayes St., Lynn and Mariel Delgado, 24, of 5 Pennybrook Gardens, #4, Saugus, stand charged with unarmed robbery, armed robbery and carjacking.Delgado is also charged with leaving the scene after causing property damage in connection with the case. The charges arise out of an incident in Lynn on June 13 when the couple allegedly stole $60 at knifepoint from a man who had just withdrawn the money out of the Bank of America ATM on Boston Street. The Guatemalan native, Agapita Lopez, told police, “They were waiting for me.”Lopez, who was in fear of his life, handed over the money and his bank card and pleaded with them not to kill him. They also apparently tried to take his car, but instead ran into the Pine Grove Cemetery where Lopez followed, contacting police in the interim. As they exited the cemetery, Delgado apparently waved down an oncoming Ford Explorer on Locust Street and when the concerned citizen stopped his car, Parziale allegedly approached the driver’s side and pulled the victim out by his shirt.Delgado jumped into the vehicle and sped away as the driver held onto the steering wheel, eventually letting go and falling to the ground. Police responding to the area chased Delgado as she lost control of the SUV, hit another car on Linwood Street and eventually came to a stop after striking a pole. She apparently told police she is a heroin addict and had met Parziale at a rehabilitation facility in Lynn.Assistant District Attorney Jean M. Curran is the prosecutor assigned to the case. Also indicted were:Bayron Fajardo, also known as Bayron Fajardo-Montoya, 32, of 829A Broadway, Chelsea, charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon as well as carrying a firearm without a license and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. The charges arise out of an incident in Lynnfield where a male and woman were shot as they left work at the Fat Cactus restaurant. According to reports, it was shortly after 1 a.m. on April 30 when the two were shot outside the restaurant. A witness told authorities he observed a Hispanic man flee the area right after the shooting in a blue Nissan Sentra and headed onto Route 1. Fajardo was arrested in New Jersey about two weeks later. He also is charged with a sexual assault in Chelsea. Assistant District Attorney Kate B. MacDougall is prosecuting the case for the state.Peter Nawn, 45, of 116 Lafayette St., Salem, is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene after causing property damage and being a habitual criminal. The charges stem from his arrest in Lynn on June 23 when he allegedly drove away a gray Cadillac from the Lynnway Meineke shop and abandoned it behind Lynn English High School, but not before striking a car at Chestnut and Union streets. The car’s keys were apparently in the ignition and the car was running, according to reports. Nawn is a felon who has previously been convicted and sentenced to a minimum of three years in state prison in two cases out of Essex Superior Court. Assistant District Attorney Karen Hopwood is prosecuting the case.
