LYNN – A Chelsea man is behind bars for allegedly punching his ex-girlfriend in the eye, throwing her down a flight of stairs and further assaulting her after a night of bar-hopping around the city.Raymond Scott Christian, 26, of 42 Carroll St., was charged with unarmed robbery, domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness. He was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court by Judge Albert Conlon and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for July 26.According to court documents, the 22-year-old victim flagged down an officer around 2 a.m., where she recalled the night’s events and cried hysterically.Police say the victim’s left eye was bruised and swollen shut. While relaying what happened to her, she cried out, “There he is!” and allegedly pointed toward Christian, who then walked toward the police cruiser. He began to yell, “She bit my face, look” and “No, I’m not going to jail” as the officer told him to put his hands on the cruiser.Police say Christian struggled for a few minutes while being handcuffed, saying, “She bit me and I’m getting arrested.” The victim alleged that the two had gone to the Lynnway Sports Center bowling alley to drink alcohol, then went to the Green Tea restaurant to continue drinking, back to the bowling alley and then her home after the bars closed for the night.Once at the victim’s place, the two got into an argument and Christian allegedly grabbed her by her arm. He then allegedly punched her in the left eye and on her face. During the fight, the victim bit Christian in the cheek so that she could break free and was then allegedly pushed down a flight of stairs. After she ran away, Christian allegedly caught up with her, punched her again and stole her cellular phone so that she couldn’t call the police for help.Witnesses say they heard a woman screaming in the street, asking for someone to call the police.During Christian’s booking, police say, he said, “Ya, I shut her eye ‘cuz she bit me” and “ya, I punched her in the face, I’m not letting anyone touch me.”
