SALEM – Jared Surrette, the Stanwood Street man who had managed the Connery Skating Rink for 21/2 years and is now facing child pornography charges, remains free on $1,000 cash bail.Surrette, 26, of 9 Stanwood St., appeared in Salem Superior Court for his arraignment Monday wearing a two-piece black/gray pin striped suit. He pleaded innocent to 10 counts of child pornography and a single count of dissemination of material of a child in an act of sexual conduct.At the joint request of the prosecutor and defense, Judge John T. Lu agreed to keep the same bail amount set earlier in Lynn District Court, $1,000 cash. Surrette will also be on pre-trial probation, report weekly to a probation officer, not to use or have access to a computer and is not to have any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18 until his trial.The charges follow an investigation by authorities that began March 29 when investigators identified Surrette sharing child pornography on the Internet.Authorities seized his computer after searching the home where he lives with his parents on the evening of May 6 and allegedly discovered 87 videos of children either in a state of nudity or in a state of sexual conduct.Surrette, who worked at the Connery Rink for five years and as its manager for half of that time, is no longer employed at the rink. He is due back in court on Sept. 19 for a pretrial hearing and motion filings.Assistant District Attorney Kristen R. Buxton is prosecuting the case. Surrette is being represented by Attorney Gary Zerola.
