lynn – Police say a drunken Lynn man allegedly threatened to fight the entire security staff at Union Hospital on Monday while his equally intoxicated girlfriend was being treated in the emergency room.John Laudanno, 34, of 249 Chatham St., was charged with disorderly conduct, assault with a dangerous weapon, chair, and malicious destruction of property over $250. He was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court, where he was ordered held without bail. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 24.According to court documents, several officers responded to the hospital at approximately 2:44 a.m., on a report of a fight in the waiting room of the emergency department. Security officers explained to the police that Laudanno was causing a disturbance by yelling that he was going to go into the emergency room, standing in a fighting stance, and challenge the entire security team to a fight. In the middle of Laudanno’s alleged tirade, security officers said they were able to figure out that Laudanno’s girlfriend had been taken to the hospital by the Lynn fire department. While a security officer checked to see if she could have any visitors, Laudanno allegedly refused to calm down, and picked up a waiting room chair with both hands and yelled, “do you wanna go!” At that moment, seven Lynn police officers arrived, who were then assisted by three security officers who all worked to calm Laudanno down. The patient’s two young children sat nearby as Laudanno allegedly continued to rant, pace back and forth, and clench his fists in rage. He was taken into custody, where he began kicking the cruiser’s side door, causing damage to it. During the ride to the Lynn station, Laudanno allegedly acted belligerent toward the officers one minute and apologized the next. His behavior continued on during his booking.Police later spoke to Laudanno’s girlfriend in her hospital room, who was allegedly so intoxicated that she was only able to say that she had relatives on Beede Avenue. A report was filed regarding the young children.
