July 26, 2011 by Robin Kaminski

LYNN – Police say a victim was carjacked at gunpoint at the intersection of Summer and Boston streets early Monday. This is the third confirmed carjacking this month.According to Lt. Christopher Kelly, police responded to Boston Street, near the Saugus town line at approximately 1:16 a.m. The victim said two males had walked across the street and forced their way into the 2006 black Ford Fusion at gunpoint.”The suspects forced the victim to drive them through different cities and later released the victim in Saugus on Ballard Street,” Kelly said. “The suspects then drove into Saugus with the vehicle. At this time, the vehicle has not been recovered.”The suspects are described as a black male, in his 20’s, clean shaven, wearing a V-neck gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, holding a handgun; and a white male, also in his 20’s, with a blonde mustache and goatee, wearing a red Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap and a gray shirt. In light of this incident, Kelly said the department is urging all motorists to be aware of their surroundings and keep their doors locked while inside their vehicles.”If a motorist does not feel comfortable allowing a pedestrian to approach their car, they should have their windows up and doors locked,” Kelly said.No arrests have been made in the incident, which remains under investigation, along with two other carjackings this month. On July 20, a victim of Hispanic descent was flagged down by a dark-skinned black male and a Hispanic male in the area of Goldfish Pond. After he stopped his 2001 brown Pathfinder, police say the suspects asked the victim to bring them to get gasoline, and shortly after pulled out a gun on him and forced him out of the vehicle. The black male suspect in that incident is described as being 5-feet, 6-inches tall, with a muscular build, wearing a blue shirt and jean shorts; the Hispanic male is described as being bald, with a long mustache hanging below his chin, wearing a white hat, yellow shirt, jean shorts and work boots.Prior to that incident, another carjacking was reported on Holland Avenue in the middle of the afternoon on July 13. Police say a 38-year-old woman and her 16-year-old son were threatened at knife-point.Anyone with information on either case is urged to call the police at 781-595-2000.
