Item Staff ReportREVERE – A Revere teen appeared in Chelsea District Court Thursday on charges of rape of a child with force.Brian G. Mercado, 17, of 84 Atwood St., was arraigned and released on $500 cash bail. He is due to return to court on Aug. 25.According to police, the victim, a 14-year-old girl, told Revere police on Wednesday that Mercado allegedly forced himself on her earlier this year. The incident took place in her bedroom on a night when Mercado had been locked out of his home and was staying over on her couch.The victim had previously disclosed the incident to a friend and a family member, but didn’t tell the police until Wednesday. No further information was released.
