SALEM – Three Lynn men who were arrested following a five-hour standoff with police in June on Wayne Avenue will have to each come up with $100,000 cash in order to get out of the Middleton Jail until their trial.Buthchhay Chourb, 22, of 8 Minot St., Randell McClain, 29, of 9 South Elm St., #3 and Sokhannara Chea, 22, of 14 Ashton St., #1, all of Lynn, appeared Thursday in Salem Superior Court for their arraignment, pleading innocent to armed robbery, home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, carrying a firearm without a license and two counts of armed assault with intent to murder. At the joint recommendation of the prosecutor and defense attorneys, Judge Timothy Q. Feeley set the bail on each of the suspects with the option that a bail hearing could be heard at their next court hearing scheduled for Sept. 15.In the meantime, all three men remain held in lieu of bail at the Middleton Jail.It was shortly after 6:30 p.m. on June 9 when police received a call of a break-in at a home at 12 Wayne Ave., where a cook-out was being held.Police responded to the scene where gunshots were exchanged in a standoff with police that lasted five hours. Police have said they believe the standoff was drug-related.McClain was shot in the arm after police said he fired at them from a second floor window. He eventually surrendered and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he underwent surgery.Chea also fired at police after they unsuccessfully tried to talk him into surrendering peacefully. When he ran down the stairs from an upper floor firing gunshots, police returned fire and he was struck.Chourb surrendered to police when they arrived at the house.A conviction on home invasion carries a sentence up to life in state prison.
