SALEM – A woman who was allegedly driving drunk when she struck and killed a Saugus man and another person from Malden during an accident on Route 93 in Andover last month was indicted Friday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Shayna Fernandez, 21, of 1131 Essex St., Lawrence, stands charged with two counts of manslaughter, two counts of motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of alcohol and being reckless and negligent and two counts of motor vehicle homicide with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater and being reckless and negligent.The charges arise out of an incident on June 11 when Francis O’Hanley, 62, and Joseph Coppola, 57, of Malden, were driving to New Hampshire for a day of fishing,It was about 6:55 a.m. when Fernandez, who was allegedly speeding and drunk, was operating her 2002 Acura RSX and slammed into the 1993 Chevrolet Blazer driven by O’Hanley on I-93 near River Road in Andover.Investigators believe that the Acura had left the roadway, went onto the center median and then re-entered the roadway, striking the Blazer a second time.After the second impact, the Blazer rolled over and came to a rest in the medium.
