SALEM – A New Hampshire man accused of strangling, kicking and throwing his former girlfriend onto the floor in her Lynn apartment earlier this year remains held at the Middleton Jail without bail following a dangerousness hearing.Ronald Fronduto Jr., 38, of 64 Kelly Road, Salem, N.H., appeared Thursday in Salem Superior Court for his arraignment, pleading innocent to 17 counts that included attempted murder, kidnapping, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon as well as assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery in violation of a court order, four counts of witness intimidation, five counts of violation of a 209-A court order and stalking in violation of a restraining order.Judge John T. Lu agreed to hold Fronduto without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Sept. 22.In the meantime, Fronduto, who is presently serving a sentence on an unrelated case, remains held at the Middleton Jail without bail. The charges arise out of incidents between May 6 and May 11.Fronduto is accused of entering his 37-year-old former girlfriend?s home at 10 Nahant St., on May 6 where he then allegedly choked her, threw objects at her as he tossed her to the floor and kicked her during the attack. At some point the victim was able to flee from the home and seek help.Authorities believe that Fronduto was trying to convince his former girlfriend to drop assault charges against him in New Hampshire. He was at her home in violation of a court issued 209-A restraining order. He also contacted her days afterwards, violating restraining orders she had out against him.Assistant District Attorney Kim Faitella is prosecuting the case and Thomas J. Torrisi is the defense attorney.
