As part of a weeklong summer program, the Boston Celtics’ Shamrock Foundation handed out 13 full scholarships to some “lucky” 6th grade students in the Boston area.The program, which took place at the Museum of Science, ran from Aug. 8 through the 12th. Celtics’ mascot Lucky was on hand to dish out the scholarships. The foundation worked with the Boston Public Schools and the Museum to determine the recipients.The students took part in classes comprised of two parts.One class based in medical care taught students what it’s like to be in the medical field. The other class was based on a crime lab, where the students learned about forensic science and the tools used to collect and analyze evidence.The Shamrock Scholars is part of the Foundation’s mission to improve educational resources and opportunities for youth in the community.
