to addresswomen’s businessawards breakfastLYNN – The Daily Item is pleased to announce that prominent Boston investigative reporter and author Hank Phillippi Ryan will be the keynote speaker for the 11th Annual North of Boston Businesswomen of the Year Awards breakfast, 7:30-9 a.m., Oct. 27 atSpinelli’s Function Facility on Route 1 South in Lynnfield.Ryan, a reporter with Boston’s NBC affiliate WHDH-TV (Channel 7), has been breaking big stories and fighting for consumers for more than 30 years. She’s won numerous awards, nationally and internationally, including 27 EMMYs, 10 Edward R. Murrow Awards for reporting and writing, and the top award from the National Association of Investigative Reporters and Editors.Ryan has battled hurricanes, floods and blizzards, wired herself with hidden cameras, chased criminals and confronted corrupt politicians. Her reporting has helped change laws to better protect consumers.Ryan is also an award-winning author of four mystery novels since 2009. She is on the national Board of Directors of Mystery Writers of America, New England Sisters in Crime, and also of the New England Chapter of Mystery Writers of America.Ryan lives in the Boston area with her husband, a nationally renowned civil rights and criminal defense attorney.The 2011 North of Boston Businesswomen of the Year sponsors confirmed so far are GE (platinum sponsor) and North Shore Community College (gold sponsor).
