SALEM – A Lynn man who police caught carrying a stolen flat-screen television down Estes Street last August will spend two years in jail following his guilty plea.Winston Forbes, 48, of 331 Eastern Ave., pleaded guilty Monday morning in Salem Superior Court to a charge of receiving stolen property before Judge Robert A. Cornetta. The judge followed the agreement proposed by Assistant District Attorney Christina P. Ronan and defense lawyer Alice Jayne. On Aug. 29, police responded to a home on Bassett Street, where the homeowner told authorities he had gone to bed and when he awoke he found someone had stolen his flat-screen television and money.Later that day, Lynn Police Officer Timothy Ferrari spotted Forbes carrying a 19-inch flat-screen and the cables to the television set had been cut.The officer checked the serial numbers and confirmed that it was the television set stolen earlier that day, said Ronan.
