LYNN – A two-alarm fire tore through the cellar of a triple-decker home at 801 Western Ave., Sunday afternoon.According to Lynn District Fire Chief Robert Bourgeois, the fire broke out at 1:50 p.m., in the three-story, wood-frame home, and the second alarm was struck at 2:04 p.m., in the event the fire spread from the cellar area.?By 2:12 p.m., we had the fire under control,” Bourgeois said. “It was a difficult fire and there was smoke throughout the building, but we were able to contain it. The crew did a great job.”Bourgeois said two people and a cat were home at the time of the fire, which caused an estimated $15,000 in structural damages.?With the guys wearing the heavy turnout gear in the heat, it takes a lot out of them, so Atlantic Ambulance was on scene with their cooling center,” Bourgeois said.The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and no injuries were reported. Bourgeois said mutual aid responded from Saugus, Melrose, Salem and Peabody.
