Police say a Lynn man allegedly rammed his car into another car in a drunken fit of rage on Monday night, following an argument in the parking lot of Mike’s Liquors.The suspect, Charles Arthur Lohman, 41, of 34 Fairview Ave., was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.Lohman was arraigned Tuesday at Lynn District Court by Judge James Lamothe and was ordered held in lieu of $1,500 cash bail. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 19.According to court documents, police responded to a report of a car accident on Adams Avenue, where they were met by a victim who said he had allegedly gotten into an argument with Lohman.The victim said he had been drinking that evening with Lohman, when the two got angry with each other. After getting into his car to get away from Lohman, the victim said he turned left onto Adams Street Extension. Lohman, the victim alleged, then accelerated his car and deliberately struck the victim’s car from behind.A witness, who was in Lohman’s car at the time of the accident, told police that Lohman allegedly “gunned it” right for the victim’s car. After the crash, the victim said Lohman allegedly started another argument with him before taking off in his car.Police caught up with Lohman at his home, where he allegedly was seen unsteadily getting out of his car in the driveway. When asked what happened to his car, he allegedly shouted obscenities about the person he was involved in an accident with and that they allegedly “slammed on the brakes,” causing him to hit their car.While speaking to Lohman, police say they noticed that he had slurred speech, a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and glassy, bloodshot eyes. After allegedly admitting to having been drinking that night, police took Lohman into custody. During his booking, Lohman allegedly refused to take a Breathalyzer test.Occupants of the other vehicle involved in the accident were treated and released from Union Hospital.
