The youngsters prevailed over the older generation on Wednesday at the 2011 Lynn Woods Relay.The Greater Boston Trail Club team of Adam Greenspan, Peabody’s Alex Gomes, Mathew Weissinger and Marblehead’s Caleb Evanter had just enough finishing kick to cross in 56:46 for a three second win over the Masters Men team SRR-Badass In Black.The GBTC team also cruised to a nearly two minute win in the Men’s Open competition. In all, three teams finished within 16 seconds of each other in the overall standings.Gomes turned in the best relay split of the meet as he ran 13:34 for his jaunt through the woods. Evanter anchored in 14:49 to place third on the individual list. Greg Picklesimer’s anchor leg of 13:35 for SRR was second overall.In the women’s open competition, the GBTC was at it as well as the team of Allison McCabe; Joy Will; Amelia Landberg and Sarah Stickney finished in 1:06:54 to take a nearly two minute win over the Gloucester foursome of Regina Loiacano; Abbie Rogers; Katie Taormina and Adrienne Fillipazo.The high school boys division saw the quartet of Alex Finestone; Scott Arsenault; Kevin Twombly and Joey Schultz finish in 1:04:38 to take the victory and a 10th overall position.Four teams cracked the one hour mark, two from the open division and two from the Masters Men competition.In the Co-Ed competition, the team of Doug Chick; Cynthia Hastings; Jon Hinchion and Crystal Anthony ran 1:06:52 to take a 2:57 victory over Shawna Kennedy; Wendy Faciano; Jim McLean and Mark Flaherty.
