SALEM – A local couple charged with robbing a man at knife point at a Boston Street ATM and then carjacking a car on Locust Street in Lynn this summer remain each held on $20,000 cash bail following their innocent pleas in Salem Superior Court Wednesday.Ferdinand R. Parziale, 30, of 12 Hayes St., Lynn and Mariel Delgado, 24, of 5 Pennybrook Gardens, #4, Saugus, appeared for their arraignment, each pleading innocent to carjacking, unarmed robbery and armed robbery before Judge Howard J. Whitehead.Delgado also pleaded innocent to another charge of leaving the scene after causing property damage in connection with the case. The judge set $20,000 cash bail on each of the suspects at the joint request of the prosecutor and defense lawyers with the option that a bail review hearing could be heard at a future court date.In the meantime, Parziale remains held at the Middleton Jail and Delgado at Framingham Prison for Women in lieu of bail.According to reports, the incident arose on the evening of June 13 when they allegedly stole $60 at knife point from a man who had just withdrawn cash out of his account at the Bank of America ATM on Boston Street. The couple then tried to take the victim’s vehicle but instead ran into the Pine Grove Cemetery, where the victim followed them while contacting police. When the alleged would-be-robbers came out of the cemetery, Delgado waved down an oncoming Ford Explorer on Locust Street. When the citizen stopped his car, Parziale allegedly approached the driver’s side and pulled the operator by his shirt from the vehicle and Delgado jumped into the car and sped away. The driver held onto the steering wheel but eventually let go and fell to the ground.Quickly responding to the area, police chased Delgado as she lost control of the SUV and slammed into another car on Linwood Street, eventually coming to a stop after hitting a pole.Delgado told police she was an addict and had met Parziale at a rehabilitation facility in Lynn. They are scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 17.
