Paradis hopes to fill Tech AD job this week

Lynn Tech principal Diane Paradis is hitting the home stretch in filling the school’s athletic director position.The job – vacated in June by Edward Shadoff, who retired – was posted Aug. 15 on the School Department’s website, and the deadline for applying was Aug. 26. Among the applicants is Joseph Skeadas, who has been acting as the interim athletic director.Paradis said the job wasn’t posted until August because of advice she’d been given by the Lynn Teachers Union.”Ed’s official last day was June 30, and we couldn’t post the job until after the July 4 holiday,” Paradis said. “But then, we were told that a lot of times, they don’t want to post these jobs earlier in the summer because a lot of teachers may be away, and might not see them.”Paradis hopes to interview the candidates this week and have a decision by Thursday night’s school committee meeting.Skeadas has been acting AD since last fall.
