SAUGUS – The Saugus Board of Selectmen voted 3-0 Tuesday night to continue a show cause hearing for Pamela Avedisian regarding her liquor license and ownership of the property at 60 Salem Turnpike, which used to be the old Atlantic Lobster Co.?There was a demand for documents requested through Det. Lt. (Ronald) Giorgetti regarding this hearing,” said selectmen Scott Crabtree. “They asked Lt. Giorgetti for an extension to produce those documents to Sept. 20.”Kristen Scanlon, a licensing attorney with McDermott, Quilty and Miller, represented Avedisian Tuesday night in place of her normal attorney Stephen Miller who was sick. Scanlon declined to comment because she was only filling in for Miller and was not familiar with some of the details of the hearing.Crabtree said Saugus police are investigating ownership issues on behalf of the board.?We requested the chief, as liquor agents, look into ownership issues that have come up,” said Crabtree. “Det. Giorgetti requested documents that relate to the business ? and ownership and possible undisclosed ownership.”At a separate show cause hearing last month dealing with non-use, the Board of Selectmen voted to cancel Avedisian?s liquor license because no progress had been made on construction at the property in more than two years.Avedisian appealed that decision and will go before the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission on Oct. 19.The board will continue the show cause hearing on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.Matt Tempesta can be reached at [email protected].
