SALEM – Bail for a Saugus man suspected of stealing a catalytic converter from a vehicle on the Lynnway and then being caught driving a stolen car this summer remains at $5,000 cash following his arraignment.Michael Sbraccia, 41, of 223 Central St., Saugus, appeared Friday in Salem Superior Court, pleading innocent to buying and receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of burglarious tools and larceny more than $250.Judge John T. Lu agreed to continue the same bail amount as set earlier in Lynn District Court at the joint request of the prosecutor and defense and continued the case to Oct. 14 for a pretrial conference.In the meantime, Sbraccia remains held in lieu of bail at the Middleton Jail, but the judge left the door open for the defense to seek a bail review at another court hearing.In the early morning hours of July 8, police claim that Sbraccia went to Enrique Auto Repair, located at 12 Ellis St. in Lynn and stole a catalytic converter from one of the vehicles parked in their lot.Afterwards Lynn Police Officer Christopher Haggerty pulled Sbraccia over driving a stolen 2007 Subaru Legacy on Broad Street, according to police reports.
