SALEM – A 17-year-old Lynn teenager who police say fired a gun during a fight this summer on Brightwood Terrace has been deemed a “danger to the community” by a Superior Court judge.Jimmy T. Keo, of 14 Clifton Ave., #1, Lynn, appealed to a Superior Court judge to review an earlier decision in Lynn District Court holding him as a danger and without bail.Judge John T. Lu said Monday morning that he had reviewed information provided by prosecutors and decided that Keo is a “danger to the community” and that there are “no conditions of release to protect the community.”During the hearing, Assistant District Attorney Meg Morrissey insisted that Keo remain held as a danger while telling Lu that the office is in the process of seeking indictments.Keo was arrested on Aug. 21 after police received a call around midnight regarding a fight on Brightwood Terrace. As police were en route, they allegedly heard four gunshots and saw two victims running. The two men were uninjured, according to police.A witness standing nearby flagged police down and said it was allegedly Keo firing the shots. When police interviewed Keo, they found no weapon, but Keo voluntarily took police to where he had tossed the gun, reportedly a 9mm, near a multi-family home.Bullet holes were found in several motor vehicles on the street, according to court documents.Defense lawyer Alan Chipman tried unsuccessfully to convince Lu that Keo could be released on conditions that involved him wearing an ankle bracelet with 24-hour lock down at his parent’s home, only to attend school at Lynn Tech and with notification visits to his attorney and counselors.
