NAHANT – Selectmen approved the sale of a $1.866-million general obligation bond then immediately adjourned their Thursday night meeting after a selectman reported feeling ill.The General Obligation Bond Anticipation Note (BANS) is a one-year bond that essentially allows the town to pay its operating expenses before taxes and other revenues are collected. The accrued interest on the bond will total $27,912.25, according to the motion approved by selectmen.Town Administrator Mark Cullinan said that Selectmen would address the remainder of the scheduled agenda items – which included signing a new zoning map, appointing a new veteran’s agent for the town and reviewing the Kelley Greens Contract among other scheduled items – at the board’s next meeting. That meeting is currently scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m.An ambulance was called to Town Hall after Selectman Richard Lombard reported feeling unwell. Selectman Chair Lainey Titus said later that evening that Lombard was transported to Salem Hospital but in good spirits.
