The Classical golf team had two freshmen step up and dominate their matches at No. 7 and No. 8, as the Rams defeated Saugus 41-31 at Gannon Tuesday.The Rams were down by four with their two freshmen, No. 7 Mark Brazell and No. 8 Brendan O’Neill, still on the course. The freshmen duo combined to win their matches 15 1/2-2 1/2. Classical coach Jack Morrison was very impressed by his team and especially his freshmen.”My freshmen were really the reason for our win today, and it was good to see the young guys step up when we needed them the most,” Morrison said.Brazell won 7 1/2-1 1/2 and O’Neill won 8-1. Other winners for Classical were: No. 4 Brett Erelli (5 1/2-3 1/2) and No. 5 Russ Holmes (6-3). No. 1 Steve Nelson tied (4 1/2-4 1/2).
