LAWRENCE – A Lynn barber who admitted dealing cocaine and OxyContin from his Glenwood Street home last year was sentenced to serve five years in state prison.William A. Alvarado Jr., 35, along with his wife and her daughter, were about to go on trial in Lawrence Superior Court, but Alvarado instead agreed to a deal negotiated between Assistant District Attorney Christina P. Ronan and his defense lawyer Michael F. Natola.Alvarado, who authorities said was the “main target” in the operation, pleaded guilty to trafficking over 14 grams of opium, trafficking over 14 grams of cocaine as well as possession with the intent to distribute methadone.A fourth charge for possession with the intent to distribute suboxone was dropped as part of negotiations.Judge Timothy Q. Feeley adopted the recommended sentence. The charges arise out of a search warrant seizure on Feb. 6, 2010 after police had made several controlled buys from Alvarado.Police raided the home at 16 Glenwood St. and discovered two bags of OxyContin pills each containing 100 tablets of 80 milligrams, a total of 56 grams.A digital scale was also seized along with cocaine, 10 Methadone tablets and $9,695 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.Alvarado, his wife Ann Marie Sloden, 39, and her daughter Jerriana Mcguire, 21, were all present during the raid. With his confession, Alvarado took responsibility for all the drugs he was selling out of his home and charges against his wife and her daughter were dropped as part of the plea worked out with the commonwealth.Alvarado had been free on $15,000 cash bail since being arraigned. The judge credited him the three days he spent in jail in lieu of bail on the case.
