LYNN – The Hayley Hope Foundation will hold the Hayley Blowers Memorial Scholarship/Award-A Night of Hope & Awareness this Friday night at the Knights of Columbus in Lynn on Lynnfield Street.Hayley Blowers was a 16-year-old former Lynn resident and Lynn Tech student who took her life a month before her 17th birthday.The foundation?s mission is to create awareness around the issue of teen suicide. Through education in the community, they try to teach the warning signs, triggers and the impact it has on the community.?I want to make people aware of the growing issues around teen suicide,” Lorraine “Missy” Perry, Blowers? mother, said in an earlier interview. “There are so many people who are not aware of it. We want to educate them.”On Friday, there will be a silent auction and a raffle table with almost $4,900 worth of items donated. Lynn Tech Culinary Department students will be preparing, setting up and serving the food throughout the evening. The Foundation will also be selling wristbands and ribbons.The money raised will go to a scholarship for a Lynn Tech culinary arts graduate. Blowers attended Lynn Tech her freshman year before moving to Maine.The event will be held Friday from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 each, two for $25, $7 for students ages 6-17 and free for children five and younger.
