The Peabody boys cross country team put its unbeaten record up against Swampscott’s, as the Tanners squeaked by the Big Blue 24-31 at Swampscott Tuesday.Peabody’s (5-0) Nick Christensen (1st overall, 13:37) broke the Swampscott course record. Other standouts for Peabody were: Drew Foster, third (14:32); Ben Braz, fifth (14:34); T.J. D’Amato, seventh (14:41) and Cody Picardy, ninth (14:59). For Swampscott, Peter Hale led the way (2nd overall, 14:07). Other runners for Swampscott were: Nick Hartmann, fourth (14:33); Matt Mahoney, sixth (14:37); Ryan Kelley, eighth (15:00) and Trevor Whelan, 11th (15:36). Swampscott is now 5-1.English 15, Saugus 50At Lynn Woods, the Bulldogs took the top five spots over this 3.1-mile course. Leading the way for English was Chris Birotte (1st overall, 18:42). Other English standouts were: Alex Bonitto, second (19:22); Matt Blaney, third (19:55); Tyler Comer, fourth (20:11) and Peter Matu, fifth (20:35). English is now 3-3.Revere 19, Classical 44At Revere, the Patriots (4-2, 4-0) took four of the first five spots led by winner Michael Fitzpatrick (16:29). Classical’s Perry Raymond finished second (17:04). Revere’s Rawling Toglan took third (17:27), Kristi Nushi, fourth (17:34) and Karim Sahila, fifth (17:38). B.J. Sandiford finished ninth for the Rams (0-6). The course was 2.89 miles.Marblehead 19, Danvers 44At Bradley Palmer, the Magicians took three of the top four spots. Marblehead’s James Wigglesworth finished first overall (16:52) over this 3.1-mile course. Ethan Levine finished third (17:28) and Mike Harper finished fourth (17:30). Marblehead is now 5-1.Fenwick 27, Lowell Catholic 30At Lowell, Bryan Mendes locked up first place with a 17:36. Dan Deschenes finished second (18:05); R.J. Silva, seventh (20:26); Eric Loehle, eighth (20:41); Nick Iebba, ninth (21:49) and Chris O’Brien, 10th (21:50). The Crusaders are 4-4.GIRLS CROSS COUNTRYPeabody 17, Swampscott 40At Swampscott, Peabody (5-0) took five of the top six spots. Leading the way for Peabody was Catarina Rocha (1st overall, 16:07). Other Peabody standouts were: Lauren Barrett, second (17:37); Sam Allen, third (17:47); Cindy May, fifth (18:22) and Sarah May, sixth (18:28). For Swampscott (3-3), all the Big Blue runners finished with either a career or season best time. Swampscott’s Hannah King finished fourth overall (18:09). Other Swampscott standouts were: Allison Carr, seventh (18:40); Alyssa Mauriello, eighth (19:22); Abby O’Connor, 10th (20:26) and Michelle LaConte, 11th (20:47).Revere 16, Classical 39At Revere, the Rams had a strong team performance despite the result. Leading the way for Classical was Maggie Bradbury (5th overall, 25:31). Priscilla Osgood had a solid performance as well (7th overall, 26:34). Classical is now 1-5.Marblehead 24, Danvers 37At Bradley Palmer, the Magicians’ depth was the difference. Leading the way for Marblehead over this 3.1-mile course was Mary Kauffman (2nd overall, 20:51). Other runners for Marblehead were: Carly Robb, fourth (21:44); Janaya Randall, fifth (22:13); Lily Roberts, sixth (22:31) and Jojo Twaalfhoven, seventh (22:43). Marblehead is now 3-3.Fenwick 20, Lowell Catholic 37At Lowell, Arianna Maida led the pack with a first-place finish (19:42). Faye Haley took second (21:12); Taylor Black, third (21:56); Hannah Smith, fifth (22:31) and Alicia Tatone, ninth (25:02). The Crusaders are 6-2.
