SALEM – An Essex County grand jury reviewing criminal cases Friday handed down indictments against two Lynn men and a woman on separate cases involving attempted murder and narcotics crimes.Pablo Martinez, 45, of 22 Rockmere Gardens, Lynn, is facing charges of armed assault with intent to murder a victim over the age of 60, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over age 60, armed assault with intent to rob and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. The charges arise out of an incident on Aug. 24, when the accused allegedly stabbed a 70-year-old friend in a downtown apartment at 19 Willow St., #301.The victim, Felix Martinez, no relation to Pablo, was found by police near a pool of blood with a bloody kitchen knife at his side inside his apartment after Pablo led police to the crime scene that early morning. The victim who had stab wounds to his face and body was taken to Salem Hospital for his non life-threatening injuries, according to reports.Authorities learned that the two men had been drinking for about two hours.Assistant District Attorney Kristen R. Buxton is prosecuting the case. Also indicted was: David Reyes, 27, of 33 Cottage St., and Alexander Sanabria, 33, of 102 Ledge Road, #4, both of Lynn, charged with trafficking over 200 grams of heroin concerns their arrest on the afternoon of Sept. 9 when police reportedly say they seized over one-quarter of a kilo of heroin from them during a motor vehicle stop. They each face a minimum mandatory state prison sentence of 15-years if convicted as charged.Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Kirshenbaum is assigned to prosecute the case for the state.Indictments are not an indication of guilt: rather it is a legal process that allows a case to be transferred from District Court to Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment.
