SWAMPSCOTT – Town Administrator Andrew Maylor has accepted a job as the Town Manager in North Andover, according to Board of Selectmen Chair Matthew Strauss.”He did get offered the position and he did accept the position,” Strauss said Monday night.”I feel very happy for him, I feel very happy it came to be for him.”Maylor has been the Town Administrator in Swampscott since 2002 after serving as the Deputy City Manager in Chelsea.During his tenure he has applied for several positions, however, that he said reflected his goals of working in a larger community with more resources and staff and which had better access to major metropolitan areas.Maylor was named one of four finalists for the North Andover position by that town’s Town Manager Search Committee on Oct. 4. A week earlier, he was named a finalist for a similar position in Winchester.North Andover selectmen announced that they had selected Maylor for their town’s top job at their Monday evening meeting.Strauss said that Maylor still needed to negotiate his contract with North Andover, but Swampscott would begin the process to find a new Town Administrator.
