The following is a list of Agganis Hall of Fame inductees.Aristotle “Harry” Agganis”The Golden Greek” ? Classical, Boston University star ? became a first baseman for the Boston Red Sox ? died in 1955 at the age of 26.Arthur AkersMember of the 1976 Classical Super Bowl champions ? Attended UCLA on a full scholarship ? Played linebacker ? Went to Fiesta Bowl his sophomore season.Jeff AkersMember of Classical’s 1980 Super Bowl winning team ? attended the University of Michigan ? Played inside linebacker ? Played in the Rose and Sugar Bowls.Leslie “Buck” BurkeEnglish graduate ? played for the Detroit Tigers from 1921-25 and was a teammate of Ty Cobb.George BullardA Classical graduate and a contemporary of Harry Agganis, he played briefly for the Detroit Tigers.Dick ChampaA third baseman for Classical, Champa rose to the Triple-A level of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ organization before retiring due to illness in his family ? He later became a successful coach of the Connery Post 6 American Legion team, winning a state title in 1988.Tony ConigliaroSt. Mary’s graduate and Red Sox star ? was the American League home run champion in 1965 at the age of 20, and the youngest player at the time (1967) to hit his 100th career homer.Francis “Boley” DancewiczQuarterback for Classical and Notre Dame ? Drafted No. 1 overall in 1946 by the old Boston Yanks ? Played for three seasons.Joe DeVitoSt. Mary’s graduate ? Played quarterback for Boston College and passed for 1,138 yards in two seasons ? Drafted by the Denver Broncos and played for one season.Dan DufourA member of the 1976 Super Bowl winning Classical football team ? Attended UCLA ? Played two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.Tim FragerClassical graduate ? Scored four touchdowns in the Classical-English football game while still a junior high ninth grader at Breed ? Played at Boston College.Bernie FribergLynn native, Worcester Academy graduate ? Played from 1919 through 1933 with the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs ? Later coached baseball at Saugus High.Jim HeganEnglish graduate ? Considered one of the best defensive catchers in the Major Leagues while with the Cleveland Indians, and was the starter on the 1954 team that won 111 games and the American League pennant.Irving Darius “Bump” HadleyBorn in Lynn ? Won 161 games in 16 Major League seasons with several teams, including the New York Yankees.Ken HillClassical graduate ? Graduated from North Adams State ? Won 117 games in 14 Major League seasons ? Appeared in the All-Star game while with the Montreal Expos ? Started a World Series game while with the Cleveland Indians.Christian HowardSt. Mary’s graduate ? Played in the College World Series while with the University of Miami ? Played one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL.Lynda LipsonBorn in Lynn ? Attended Bishop Fenwick ? played softball and threw the shot put simultaneously while with the Crusaders ? Attended the University of North Carolina, where she switched to the javelin ? Made 1996 US Olympic team.Lisa McGloinBorn in Lynn ? Was a member of four straight Division 1 state softball champions ? Played at North Carolina ? Successful coach at Concord-Carlisle.Sharon NicosiaPlayed field hockey, basketball and softball for Classical ? Attended South Florida on an athletic scholarship ? While teaching in Concord, NH, she was featured in the book “Arnold’s Fitness for Kids,” by Arnold Schwarzenegger, in 1993.Mike PazikEnglish graduate ? Played baseball at Holy Cross ?
