Man accused of stealing clothing from 4 Peabody stores indicted

SALEM – Two men were indicted Friday afternoon on separate charges involving larceny and narcotics crimes by an Essex County grand jury.Nhut Van Le, 40, of 852 Hyde Park Ave., Hyde Park, is facing five counts of larceny of property as well as being a common and notorious thief.Le is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of clothing from four stores at the North Shore Mall in Peabody from Nov. 29, 2010 to Dec. 30, 2010.Prosecutors accuse Le of stealing clothing from North Face on Dec. 29.Then on Dec. 30 he allegedly went on a crime spree stealing clothing from Hollister, GAP, Abercrombie and Express.Prosecutors also indicted him as a notorious thief having been convicted previously of larcenies, which enables them to seek a more severe punishment, if convicted.Assistant District Attorney Kim Faitella is prosecuting the case.Also indicted was Pedro Arroyo-Santana, 21, of 4 Sheridan St., #2, Lynn, charged with trafficking over 28 grams of cocaine, trafficking over 14 grams of heroin, possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition concerning his arrest in Lynn on the night of Aug. 31.
