The Lynn Classical and Lynn Tech boys soccer teams met back in September to begin the regular season and on Monday at Manning Field, the two put an end to the regular season with an entertaining contest.The Tigers twice fought back after Classical took the lead, salvaging a 2-2 tie on Edwin Alas’ goal with seven minutes left in the second half.”It was very close all the way,” Rams coach Rob Upton said. “Anytime you get two Lynn teams together it’s going to be a tight one. We’re both in the tournament so we were fighting for pride.”Salvador Castro gave Classical (10-3-4) a 1-0 lead at halftime on a goal assisted by Abdoulaye Bah. Tech clawed back to tie the game on a Francisco Franco penalty kick early in the second.But the Rams retook the lead when Castro struck again, this time, unassisted at the midpoint of the half.”They got that second goal and it really seemed to pump us up a bit,” Tech coach Fred Gallo said. “Usually that can be a killer but it worked the opposite for us.”The Tigers put on the pressure and Alas paid it off when he beat Don Gomez on a free kick to deadlock things for good.”Both teams played fantastic,” Gallo said. “Sure, you would like to win but both sides played so well that a tie was well deserved.”Lynnfield 3, Fenwick 1At Donaldson Field in Peabody, the Pioneers (15-3) completed a brilliant regular season as Marco Addonizio tied the game in the first half and George Levantakis added a pair of second half goals.Midfielder Steve Carangelo had two assists while Pete Franchi shut down things on the back line for Lynnfield.Peabody 3, Masco 1At Peabody, the Tanners (12-5) stunned the powerhouse Chieftains as the hosts scored three unanswered goals after trailing 1-0 early.Thiago Gloria’s unassisted goal tied the game for Peabody and Colin Mahoney put the Tanners ahead for good, assisted by Tommy Drover. Alec Cerqueira added the insurance goal 91 seconds into the second half, assisted by Mahoney and Mike Chiappini.Everett 5, Revere 3At Revere, the Patriots (7-7-4) wrapped up their season on a down note. The game was tied, 2-2, with 20 minutes left, but Everett caught fire down the stretch. Mahmed Kenawy scored Revere’s first goal. The second Revere goal was an own goal that was credited to Oscar Palencia-Pinto. The final goal came from Ben Graciani.GIRLS SOCCERSaugus 3, Malden 0At Malden, Paige Hibbard, Jackie Russo and Mikayla Perella each had a goal while Melissa Toomey made two saves as the red hot Sachems (12-3-3) capped the regular season with a win.VOLLEYBALLLynnfield 3, Salem 1At Lynnfield, the Pioneers (20-0) completed a perfect regular season as they took the first two sets, dropped the third and then took a 25-11 fourth set victory.Julia Goldstein had 10 kills, four aces and three blocks while Abby Norwood added 16 assists, three aces and three kills.
