Saugus Town Meeting will welcome 11 new members

SAUGUS – Saugus Town Meeting will welcome 11 new members to its ranks after Tuesday?s election, while 39 incumbents held on to their seats.Residents from 10 precincts voted for up to five members per precinct for a total of 50 Town Meeting members.Precinct 8 saw the most turnover this year, with four new members winning seats. Joan Fowler, Joia Cicolini, Peter Frontiera and Peter Vadala will join incumbent Anthony LoPresti, according to the election results.Precinct 3 saw three new members win seats, as William Stewart, David Cottam and Paul Allan will join incumbents Maureen Dever and Charles Gill.Stefano D?Anna won a seat in Precinct 7, along with incumbents Patricia Anne Johnson, Timothy Hawkes, Kimberly Politano and Stephen McCarthy, while William Jones won a seat in Precinct 1.Brenton Spencer picked up a seat in Precinct 5 and John Gillis won a seat in Precinct 10.Precincts 2, 4, 6 and 9 will remain the same, as all incumbents won re-election.Matt Tempesta can be reached at [email protected].
