NAHANT – Selectmen voted 2-0 to meet behind closed doors this morning to negotiate a contract for Saugus Town Manager Andrew Bisignani to become Nahant’s new town administrator.Bisignani asked for the session to be held behind closed doors, according to Selectman Chairman Lainey Titus.Titus abstained from the vote, noting that the board had decided to hold the negotiations in public at their Dec. 1 meeting and that candidates were aware that the process was public.But Selectmen Richard Lombard and Michael Manning voted to hold the negotiations behind closed doors.”I don’t feel we’re hiding anything, it’s not like we are having a secret meeting in my basement,” Lombard said this morning.Read the complete story in Thursday’s Daily Item.
