SALEM – A former Peabody man and his sister suspected of burglarizing a home on Grover Street in Beverly this past summer and also trying to pawn stolen items for cash in Peabody, have pleaded innocent.Kenneth Sica, 31, homeless, and Leslie Sica, 35, of 158 Winona St., Peabody, pleaded innocent last week in Salem Superior Court to breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, larceny from a building and receiving stolen property before Judge Timothy Q. Feeley.Leslie Sica also denied five additional counts of receiving stolen property in connection with the case.She remains free on $500 cash bail with the condition she complete an inpatient drug program at the Salvation Army program. She was also placed on pretrial probation with random screenings pending the outcome of her case.Assistant District Attorney Jean M. Curran reserved her right to address the bail issue if Sica fails to enter the drug rehabilitation program.Kenneth Sica, a carpenter by trade, remains held in lieu of $7,500 cash bail. He currently is serving a sentence on unrelated charges out of Middlesex County.Authorities claim the pair burglarized a home on Grover Street in Beverly on July 25, stealing numerous pieces of jewelry.Police arrested Leslie Sica in July after she was trying to pawn stolen items at a shop inside the Northshore Mall in Peabody.At the time of her arrest, police said she was wearing an antique cameo belonging to a Beverly woman, who had reported it stolen during an earlier home invasion.They are due back in court on Jan. 24 for a pretrial conference.
