LYNN – A Lynn man was arrested on a straight warrant Tuesday for committing access device fraud using an EBT machine at his Central Avenue business between 2009 and 2011.Peter J. Limat, 36, of 190 Williams Ave., was arraigned in Lynn District Court Wednesday on charges of electronic fund transfer violation over $100 after he allegedly committed food stamp, or EBT, fraud at his business, J&M Mini Mart at 159A Central Ave.According to an affidavit written by Special Agent Christopher Robinson of the Department of Agriculture?s Office of Inspector General, Limat committed the fraud at his business.Central Avenue was home to several other stores busted for EBT fraud in a raid last month.Limat reportedly conducted numerous transactions where he gave undercover investigators cash in exchange for food stamps, and Robinson said in the affidavit that his review of the store from September 2009 to October 2011 showed that the store had 2,404 individual food stamp transactions totaling $336,889.Limat was released on bail and will go back to court later this month.Taylor Provost can be reached at [email protected].
