MARBLEHEAD – Retiring Director of Public Health Wayne Attridge visited his successor Andrew Petty in the health office Tuesday morning, said his goodbyes to staff and friends and left bearing gifts from Board of Health member Michelle Gottlieb – but his departure was short-lived.Tuesday evening, the board lost no time assigning Attridge some new duties as a member of the Transfer Station Building Committee, where he can continue to share the expertise he developed in years of running the station and advising the committee. However, Petty pointed out that the appointment leaves the committee with 10 members, an even number that could result in a tie vote.At his recommendation, the board agreed to seek an 11th member, a local resident with experience in large construction projects.?Some committee members feel that this is where the gap is in the committee,” Petty said.Letters of interest may be sent to the health office at the Mary Alley Municipal Building, 7 Edger Road, Marblehead MA 01945.
