MARBLEHEAD – The major part of the clean-up and rehabilitation of the landfill-contaminated condo property at 52 Stony Brook Road was finished Dec. 18 and the four unit owners were able to move back into their homes before the holidays, as so-called punch-list work continued.New Director of Public Health Andrew Petty told the Board of Health at his first meeting Tuesday that Charter Environmental Inc. of Quincy finished work on the utility connections area and was scheduled to pave the affected area Friday.The company plans to landscape that property in April.?(The property) looks really nice,” Petty said.Next up is the home at 57 Stony Brook Road. The town is scheduled to take possession of the house later this month. Owner Jeff Dinsmore has purchased another home and is preparing to move at that time and the town plans to demolish the house at the end of March.After that clean-up is complete the contractor will tackle town-owned contaminated portions of properties at 55 and 56 Stony Brook Road.Charter started work Nov. 4 after submitting the lowest bid of $644,000. Contaminated material is being removed from each site and deposited in the town?s landfill, which will be capped after a new transfer station is built.
