SALEM – A Lynn man who got arrested for allegedly stealing $350 at knifepoint from a neighborhood convenience store received four years in state prison.Matthew David Griggs, 20, of 248 Lynnfield St., pleaded guilty Friday afternoon in Salem Superior Court to a charge of armed robbery before Judge Douglas H. Wilkins.The judge agreed to follow the recommendation of Assistant District Attorney Michael Sheehan and defense lawyer Mark Schmidt.Griggs admitted that on the afternoon of March 6 he walked into the Lynnfield Street Market, located at 263 Lynnfield St., brandishing a hunting knife and demanded cash.Then he immediately ran behind the counter, reached into the cash register and grabbed $350 before running from the store.Griggs turned himself in to Lynn police a few hours after the heist and told police he had used some of the proceeds from the holdup to buy marijuana and gave the rest to people he owned.
