PEABODY – Peabody police say they have arrested two people suspected of stealing more than $45,000 in merchandise from area malls over the past several months.Edward McVey, 38, and Brandi Connor, 28, were arrested at a house on Shirley Avenue in Revere on Saturday morning for numerous warrants for stealing from high-end malls in the North Shore, Burlington and Natick malls, according to Lt. Bill Cook.Cook said Connor and McVey both have warrants dating as far back as April and as recently as Jan. 1 for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars of merchandise. On the North Shore, they have warrants out for stealing merchandise in Saugus on Nov. 26 and from shops in Peabody on Dec. 3, Cook said.Cook said detectives from all police departments where the thefts occurred worked together to locate the suspects. Finally, he said, police received a tip that the two were in Revere. Cook said police staked out a residence on Shirley Avenue on Saturday morning and waited for the suspects to come out.”I know they’ve been working hard at this, and all the departments cooperatively worked together to try to catch up with these two,” he said. ” ? They were all over the place.”The two are expected to be arraigned Monday in Peabody District Court.
